Shotley Point Yacht Club (SPYC) members are all passionate about boating. Whether you own a boat or not, you will find a warm welcome and the opportunity to join in over 40 events each year. As well as cruises near and far, and social events throughout the year, there are opportunities to refresh skills and learn new ones during the winter.
We offer social cruising, from day sails up the rivers, weekend trips slightly further afield, to our annual cruising challenge. Whichever you join in with, you’re sure to make good friends.
If you’re new to sailing, or have perhaps just bought your first boat, sailing in company is a great way to build confidence and gain experience, and experienced members are always willing to give support. Our Crew Pool Scheme enables non-boat owning members to go sailing, develop experience, and work towards recognised qualifications, while at the same time offering available crew with a variety of experience for shorthanded skippers.
Children, grandchildren, and friends are always welcome and encouraged to join in.
